Ladbrokes shuts down eSports markets

eSports industry news source eSportsbettingreport.com has informed that Ladbrokes has ‘quietly dropped its eSports betting markets’.

The news source points to a customer query with Ladbrokes support asking the bookmaker why no eSports markets were visible on its sports betting product.

The bookmaker replied to the query stating that its eSports markets had been ‘taken away currently’, further noting that  ‘a decision has not been made yet on its return’.

The FTSE-listed bookmaker had previously operated eSports markets for ‘’big four’ tournaments on CS:GO, Dota 2, LoL and StarCraft games.

Although Ladbrokes eSports betting did not offer the depth of competitors Betway, Skybet and bet365, the bookmaker had a reasonable selection of markets when compared to other online bookmakers.

Ladbrokes management have yet to make an official announcement regarding its eSports offering and whether the market will reappear once the operator completes its merger with Gala Coral.
