Mor Weizer- Playtech: Convergence to be dominant industry trend in 2017

Speaking to industry media, Mor Weizer CEO of market leading platform and technology provider Playtech Plc, has stated that 2017 will be the year of ‘cross channel convergence’ for industry stakeholders.

Asked what will be the dominant industry theme/trend in 2017, Weizer did not hesitate to answer, by stating that convergence would see real B2B through to B2C progress this year, as tier 1 operators look to maximise their digital and retail (landbased) assets.

A confident Weizer, notes that 2017 will not only see operators engage in true omin-channel capabilities, but that the industry will benefit from new ‘convergence-led engagement with players, who will continue their play on anywhere and on any device.

Pointing towards industry innovation, Weizer details Playtech’s recent release of new ‘cross channel’ game Tiki Paradise. Launched last week across all channels and devices exclusively with Coral, Tiki Paradise a five-reel, 10 win-line slot which Playtech governance claims is the industry’s first true cross-channel content.

As Playtech CEO, Weizer notes the research and resources undertaken to develop Tiki Paradise, stating that Playtech is already ahead of competitors with regards to creating seamless multi-channel engagement. However, complex the challenges of creating omni-channel capabilities are for technology providers, Weizer states that online gambling is still a ‘simple game’, whereby the most efficient operator with the best brand and marketing acquires the best players, Playtech’s role is to simply service this business reality.
