TPPI and same-sex marriage

TPPI said this week that introducing gay marriage would be one step too far for Malta, that it would be “premature and impolitic”. Further it calls for a longitudinal scientific study to look at the sensitive issue of the effetcs on children in same-sex relationships. TPPI has been very advanced thinking regarding the introduction of divorse in the last years, I also think that Martin Scicluna’s articles in the media has also contributed to a better understanding why divorce had to be introduced. Unfortunately I do not understand now TPPI’s position on same-sex marriage as it is coming up with the very same argument PN justified their stance against the introduction of divorce in Malta. Furthermore, there have been many scientifice studies in the past on effects on children growing up in a same-sex relationship environment (the latest one can be found here http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/early/2013/03/18/peds.2013-0377). They all have to failed to prove that children having grown up in those relationships have been disadvantaged compared to others.
