Graeme Swann backs Australia for T20 World Cup glory

Graeme SwannEngland T20 World Cup winner Graeme Swann has delivered a surprise tip as the T20 World Cup gets underway – he’s tipping Australia.

Despite never having won the T20 World Cup Swann, reluctantly believes Australia can finally go all the way. Speaking exclusively as online bookmaker Unibet’s cricket ambassador, Swann explains:

“I’m sorry but I’m going for Australia. No one likes them but they’ve got some incredible talent in T20 especially in Warner, Smith, Maxwell and Faulkner – guys that turn up on the big occasion.”

Australia are the 19/4 joint second favourites with Unibet to win the tournament, behind favourites India at 2/1 with England a 7/1 contender. But Swann suggests it’s not necessarily a team of big bashers that will come through.

The former spin king said: “The team that wins the T20 World Cup are the team that innovates the most. Other teams are all about smash and grab with big six hitters but the team who innovate are normally the ones that have to be caught in the tournament.”
