Independent bookmaker bet365 is set to open its first satellite technology office in Manchester’s Spring Gardens. Looking to bolster its technology development arm, bet365 is reported to be seeking 50-70 new employees who will support its Stoke-based HQ.

bet365 governance will aim to open its Manchester hub office by early May.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Dom Hawley bet365 Head of Software Development commented

“We’ve found exceptional people in Stoke but it’s clear that we now need to expand our operation outside of the local area to grow our development teams further.”

Hawley further stated that bet365 senior management had been impressed by Manchester’s tech centre and its appeal to developers.

“Manchester was the obvious choice for establishing a blueprint for our growth. It has a superb technology culture. It’s close enough to Stoke that people can move between offices if necessary and the commuter links are such that we may also attract people from further afield.” Hawley added.

bet365 Manchester offices will be headed up by Warren Hughes Head of System Development. The operator has begun its recruitment process for development focused employees who will work within all sectors of bet365 operational value chain.

“The recruitment in Manchester has started off extremely positive and is already proving to be a location that can offer us highly skilled software development professionals who are passionate about technology”. Commented Warren Hughes
