Åland licensed gambling operator Paf has confirmed the appointment of former Betting Promotion and Tain Networks Chief Executive Christer Fahlstedt as its new CEO.

A Scandinavian igaming veteran Fahstedt replaces Ander Ingves, who stepped down as CEO of Paf last February following a dispute with governance regarding the operator’s corporate strategy.

Announcing Fahlstedt as its new CEO, Paf governance declared that it had found the right leader to take the company in a new direction by implementing a new growth strategy.

Taking on the leadership of Paf, Fahlstedt will be charged with reversing the operators financial and commercial performance which have recorded severe year-on-year declines. Paf will also look to recover its position amongst mounting competition from international operators targeting its core markets.

Speaking to Scandinavian news sources, Fahlstedt commented that he looked forward to the challenge Paf presented, and the operator would put the consumer first under his management.

Paf governance confirmed that Fahlstedt would begin his tenure as CEO on 1 June, and will be based out of the firm’s headquarters in Mariehamm, the capital of Åland.
