The Government of Gibraltar has begun its search for a new Head of Gambling Regulation following the resignation of Phill Brear from the executive position.

Last Friday industry news source EGR Magazine reported that Brear had stepped down from the executive role serving the British Overseas Territory.

Brear has served the combined roles of Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner and Head of Regulation since July 2011.

Going forward the former Director of Operations for the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), will solely act as Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner. Furthermore, Brear will play an active role in the appointment of his successor as Gibraltar gambling regulatory lead.

Updating the market, the Government of Gibraltar has disclosed that it seeks to interview candidates for the position of ‘Director of Licensing and Regulation’, who will report directly to its Ministry of Financial Services & Gaming.

The Ministry of Financial Services & Gaming has opened the executive role suitably qualified candidates, with applicants being given until 21 October to apply
