Frankie Dettori & Victoria Pendleton get racing seats with ITV

Presenting its full broadcast schedule for UK racing in 2017, ITV Sports has revealed Frankie Dettori and Victoria Pendleton as new members of its ‘ITV Racing team’.

ITV who takes over UK racing terrestrial broadcast from Channel 4 in January 2017, announced that legendary champion jockey Dettori would take on the role of ‘racing expert’.

Pendleton a two-time Great British Olympic Gold Medallist for track cycling will feature as a regular ITV Racing contributor. Pendleton has prior racing experience having run the 2016 Cheltenham Festival Foxhunter Chase with Betfair.

This September ITV Sports announced that it plans to broadcast 40 days of racing in 2017 on its main terrestrial channel.

Its main channel broadcasts will be would be hosted by Ed Chamberlain (main-host) and Francesca Cumani (Anchor), with Its ‘Racing Team’ will be further supported by ‘betting expert’ Matt Chapman who joins the broadcaster from ‘At The Races’.

Adding racing to its sports content, ITV will gain exclusive coverage of major festivals’ Cheltenham and Royal Ascot. The commercial broadcaster will also show UK classics The Grand National, The Derby, Oaks and St Ledger.
