Optima reflects on the success of its Trade Fair sponsorship

Betting industry supplier OPTIMA has revealed the reasons behind its decision to sponsor last month’s TVC Bookmakers Trade Fair, which took place in Solihull’s Cranmore Park Conference Centre.

Jamie Maskey, Trade FairThe event, which was moved to Solihull last year after the moving of night racing at the previous location in Wolverhampton, brought the industry together to showcase new products and technologies. OPTIMA, a provider of sports betting and eGaming software, had a raft of visitors around its stand throughout the exhibition.

During a busy day in Solihull, boosted by the hot drinks on offer from automatic Espresso Essential machines, OPTIMA’s Commercial Director Jamie Maskey spoke about the strengths of the event.

Maskey stressed the importance of trade fairs like this one, and described the progression of the event from 2015 to 2016 as ‘chalk and cheese’. On becoming headline sponsor and exclusive partner for the 2016 TVC event, he said: “We decided to take on headline sponsorship of the TVC Bookmakers Trade Fair to create a greater awareness for our products in the UK betting and retail markets.

“During the build-up and throughout the exhibition itself, the organisation from TVC was superb; they were true to their word in improving the layout of the event and attracting more of the right people to make it a success. We were particularly pleased to showcase our I-SHOP product, which brings the entire offering of the betting shop that you are in onto your smartphone, thus allowing the punter to bet using his phone. We were delighted at how well this was received by the industry.”

OPTIMA was joined in Solihull by a further 20 exhibitors, which included representatives from A Bet A, IBAS, Betting Business, Inspired Gaming, MRG Systems, BGT, Manny Bernstein, SG Gaming, 49’s, Association of British Bookmakers and the Gambling Commission.
