Rachel Riley hosted Sky Betting and Gaming’s first annual Gala Ball celebrating a year of fundraising in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Rachel Riley, Sky Betting & GamingThe Countdown star and Sky Sports’ Friday Night Football presenter announced that Sky Betting and Gaming has already exceeded its original fundraising target of £20,000. Hundreds of employees at the company have contributed to this figure, participating in events from cycling sportives, London to Paris bike rides, Tough Mudders, half marathons and raffles.

The night itself raised an additional £16,218, which doesn’t include money for a 55-inch TV, after Riley herself landed the headline raffle prize and donated it for auction to make more money for the charity.

Richard Flint, Sky Betting & Gaming’s Chief Executive, said: “It’s been an incredible year, not only because we’ve managed to smash our target in support of a vital ward at Leeds General Infirmary, but also because it’s brought people from all areas of the business together with some of the best businesses in Yorkshire. I can’t thank everyone enough.”

Siobhan Dunn, CEO of Teenage Cancer Trust, added: “It’s thanks to support from companies such as Sky Betting & Gaming that we can be there at every stage for the seven diagnosed with cancer each day aged 13 to 24. The funds will go towards specialist outreach teams or nurses and youth support workers, and help us to reach our goal of helping every young person in the UK with cancer by 2020.”

The ball took place at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on November 9, and welcomed more than 700 guests from a host of businesses across Yorkshire.
