Oslo-listed Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) has confirmed that it will undertake a ‘far-reaching’ organisational restructure in a move to integrate its recently acquired assets with its existing industry portfolio of betting/igaming brands.

The restructure will see GIG create a ‘B2C Division’ integrating acquired Betit Group assets (purchased June 2016) of Kaboo, SuperLenny and Thrills.com unified under a new B2C organisation with GIG home brands of Guts.com, Betspin and Rizk.com.

Issuing an open letter to its employees and corporate stakeholders, GIG governance detailed that the B2C division would be led by Thomas Bäckman former CEO of Betit Group.

In its letter GIG governance stated that the operational changes were needed, in order for the firm to reach its target of being the industry leading online gambling company for Scandinavia.

Thomas Bäckman commented on taking leadership of GIG’s B2C division;

“I’m really thrilled and looking forward to get the chance to run the GIG B2C organisation. Together we are stronger and I’m confident that it will be an amazing ride the coming years where we will become the leading iGaming operator in the Nordics. “

“I will have individual meetings with all the teams (Betit, Guts, Betspin and Rizk) in the coming days to talk a bit more about the future and answer potential questions”

The internal changes will see Robin Reed take up the leadership position of GIG Group Chief Executive, with the company servicing both B2B and B2C services for the online gambling industry
