CONMEBOL the South American Football Confederation has confirmed that it will join Sportradar’s integrity program with a view of optimising its mechanisms in detecting, monitoring and investigating match-fixing within its syndicated football matches/competitions.

Confirming the strategic partnership, Sportradar will install its match data monitoring, Fraud Detection System monitoring the global betting market across a host of South American football leagues and competitions, in order to detect possible fixes and manipulations;

The South American confederation joins other major sports leagues and associations in partnering with Sportradar integrity monitoring services. Sportradar partners include UEFA, the AFC, NBA basketball, NHL ice hockey and ICC Cricket.

As part of its integrity monitoring services, Sportradar will further support CONMEBOL officials and stakeholders by providing training and consulting on identifying potential match fixing.

CONMEBOL governance detailed that the partnership was part of its league wide efforts to promote transparency throughout all levels of South American football. Alejandro Domínguez, CONMEBOL’s President commented on the agreement;

Bringing on board a world-class company like Sportradar to prevent, identify and investigate various forms of sporting fraud, marks a new milestone in our crusade to strengthen transparency, guarantee sports justice, promote fair play values and strengthen confidence in the institutions that govern football”
