888sport commits to ESSA integrity body

Entering 2017 European sports betting operator 888Sport has become the latest industry stakeholder to join betting integrity body ESSA.

The 888 Holdings sports betting subsidiary will work with ESSA governance to further protect industry consumers from betting fraud and further help fight betting-related corruption in sport.

ESSA governance was pleased to welcome a further high profile bookmaker to its ranks. 888Sport has been a major sponsor of European sports, forming partnerships with including Spanish Primera Liga club Sevilla, the Grade 1 Tingle Creek Chase, Giro d’Italia, the World Grand Prix snooker tournament and various English football clubs.

An enthusiastic Khalid Ali, Secretary General of ESSA, welcomed 888sport’s decision to joins its body stating:

“The operator is a leading player in the industry and I am delighted that it has joined ESSA. It is the perfect start to 2017 and builds upon a very successful 2016 both in terms of membership growth and the association’s ability to protect its regulated members from betting related fraud. 888sport will now add its unique customer base and betting market platforms to our global anti-fraud alert and reporting system.”

Ross Harkins, Sports Fraud and Risk Manager of 888 Holdings backed ESSA integrity programs detailing;
