Cleminson takes fourth place after ‘Flying’ start at Newbury

Ben Cleminson from Square in the Air was the only one to pull off a victory in this week’s Tipster Challenge at Newbury, after correctly picking Flying Tiger to win the opening race.

After a ‘flying’ start, it was a struggle for Cleminson, despite coming close with 7/4 favourite Max Ward in the 2:20 race won by 10/1 outsider Theatre Flame. However, the 4.50 points from Flying Tiger ensures he takes a respectable 4th place on the Tipster Challenge leaderboard.

Meanwhile, a fruitless day for Stephen Harris of bettingexpert and the experts from Timeform means that they are now next to each other in 11th and 12th place. Both were left frustrated by the inability of 5/4 Potters Corner to beat Brandon Hill (11/2) in one of the most competitive races of the day.

Race Winners at Newbury:

  1. Flying Tiger 9/2
  2. Beyond Conceit 3/1
  3. Theatre Flame 10/1
  4. Brandon Hill 11/2
  5. Midnight Glory 25/1
  6. Perfect Harmony 7/1
