Bienvenue… Nicolas Béraud returns as CEO of Betclic

French sports betting operator Betclic has confirmed that founder and former Chief Executive Nicolas Béraud will return as leader of the operator replacing Isabelle Andrès who has left the company.

Part of the executive team which founded ‘BetClick Limited’ in 2005, Béraud left the French operator in 2011 following the firm’s merger with Mangas Everest Group. Béraud’s return sees him take over as the firm seeks to recover its position as a leading French online bookmaker following its struggle to adjust to the conditions of regulated French online betting sector.

Furthermore, Béraud will be tasked with leading Betclic’s international growth strategy, which last year saw the bookmaker become the first international operator to enter the Portuguese online betting market launching Betclic.pt.

“I am delighted to be back at the head of Betclic Group, which I led until 2011,” Béraud said of returning to Betclic. “I am convinced that with the involvement, expertise and passion of the group’s employees, we will be able to accelerate our development and innovate by reinventing Betclic.”

Betclic governance confirmed the departure of CEO Isabelle Andrès (2013-2017), stating that she had chosen to work personal projects. Andres will continue to advise Betclic  German market subsidiary bet-at-home.
