New UK bookmaker Sun Bets has announced that it will sponsor English National League South side Sutton United for their upcoming FA Cup fifth round tie against Premier League giants Arsenal FC.

The one-time sponsorship will see the Sun Bets logo printed on the front of Sutton United match day shirts for the FA Cup tie which will be televised live on BBC 1 (20 February – 7:45 pm).

Non-league Sutton United shocked English football by knocking out Leeds United in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The Surrey side will now take on North London Premier League royalty welcoming Arsenal to their Gander Green Lane stadium (capacity – 12,000), in what could be one of the FA Cup’s biggest ever upsets.

Sun Bets Marketing Director Barry Sage commented on the sponsorship: “We are delighted to be working alongside Sutton United in what can only be described as the biggest match in history of the club. The fixture gives us the perfect platform to promote the Sun Bets brand through both TV and on-site activation.”

“The odds are stacked against Sutton United, but as they proved against Leeds United in the Fourth Round, upsets can happen.”

As part of its shirt sponsorship, Sun Bets marketing has further agreed a ‘stadium branding’ package for the remainder of the 2016/17 season.

Sutton United Manager Paul Doswell said, “Monday’s match is a huge occasion not only for the club, but for the area. We are delighted to welcome Sun Bets to the Gander Green Lane and are really exciting to be working with such a huge brand.”

“Our cup run and the money from the sponsorship will help so much to keep improving this great club and we’re extremely proud of what we have achieved so far.”

At present, Sutton United are 14/1 with Sun Bets to overcome Arsenal (1/7 Arsenal & 13/2 Draw), and it’s 11/1 for Sutton to break all records and qualify through to the Sixth Round.
