Betfair – La La Land 5/4 to break Oscars ‘most wins’ record

As Hollywood’s A-list prepares for the 89th Academy Awards this Sunday night, movie insiders are pondering whether Damien Chazelle’s romantic musical comedy ‘La La Land’ will break the ‘most Oscars won by a movie’ record.

La La Land a film described as a ‘love letter’ to classic Hollywood productions, has equalled the most Oscar nominations record set by ‘Titanic’ (1997) and ‘All About Eve’ (1950).

Updating its Oscars 2017 market, Betfair has now priced La La Land at 5/4 to take home 12 Academy Awards breaking the ‘all-time Oscar wins’ record.

The bookmaker has the film heavily favoured in the biggest categories to break the record, with winning Best Picture at 1/9, Best Director for Damien Chazelle at 1/20 and Emma Stone becoming the 6/1 favourite to win Best Actress.

La La Land is further backed to break the record as it is firm favourite for the Academy’s technical categories, such as Best Soundtrack, Best Film Editing and Best Cinematography.

Commenting on the market, Betfair Spokesperson Katie Baylis stated that La La Land was ‘red hot favourite in nearly all the Oscar 2017 markets, it remains to be seen whether Damien Chazelle can rewrite the Academy’s history books’.
