German Poker-Pro Jens Lakemeier Wins 2017 WSOP $2,500 Mixed Big-Bet


23-year-old, German poker-pro Jens Lakemeier won the inaugural of the brand new event launched in 2017 by the World Series of Poker. The $2,500 mixed big-bet, was a mix of no-limit hold’em, pot-limit Omaha, pot-limit Omaha hi-lo, Big O, no-limit 2-7 single draw, pot-limit 2-7 triple draw, and no-limit five card draw made up the mix of the inaugural event.
Around 197 participants showed up for the event, where Lakemeier won the title, $112,232 as the top prize and his very first gold bracelet.
Lakemeier entered the event the last day as the chip leader with six players left. Of the 2.3 million chips in play, Lakemeier had collected some 1.8 million, occupying the lead position in the three-handed action. He had a straight showdown with Jason Stockfish, after defeating Andre Kelsall in third place. Stockfish finished in second place with $69,359 and Jens being the ultimate winner fetching the major scoop of the prize money.
