Mourinho’s men dominate week two in the SBC League of Legends

Esports Insider’s Sam Cooke stormed into contention in the SBC League of Legends after amassing 76 points in the second week of this year’s Fantasy Premier League.

However, Cooke is still 23 points off league leader James Birch, who might come to regret using his ‘triple captain’ chip so early in the season, despite Romelu Lukaku’s goal at the Liberty Stadium.

Birch is just eight points ahead of William Hill’s Al Romulus, manager of the week in the SBC League of Legends, who’s ‘AlUnited’ team produced the goods in South Wales. In fact, Eric Bailly, Paul Pogba and Lukaku combined for 42 of his league-high 79 points.

The Gameweek was dominated by Manchester United assets, along with former Old Trafford favourite Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez, Leicester’s set piece dangerman Harry Maguire and a resurgent Marcos Alonso, the week’s top performer with 16 points.

Alonso scored a trademark first-half free kick, before profiting from a Hugo Lloris error to condemn Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs to an eight defeat in 11 Wembley outings. Will managers keep the faith in the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane for Sunday’s attractive ‘home’ match against Burnley?

Last week’s leader Rob Esteva just about held on to his top ten spot despite a disappointing 35-point return. The SBC League of Legends resumes on Saturday lunchtime at the Vitality Stadium, as Manchester City’s expensive FPL stars look to bounce back against Bournemouth.
