Colombia’s gambling regulatory body Colijuegos has awarded its second official online gambling licence to Corredor Empresarial SA, the licensed operator of Colombian provincial lotteries.
The licence will allow Corredor Empresarial to operate its new online gambling brand Betplay.com.co, powered by industry software providers Kambi for its sports betting provisions and R Franco Digital acting as lead online casino and platform provider.
Betplay.com.co becomes the second active online gambling operator for the newly regulated Colombian market, joining first recipient Aquila Global’s WPlay.co brand which was approved last June.
Opening up its online gambling market, the Colombian government has detailed that it plans to boost its national health care initiatives, raising money through gambling services monitored by Colijuegos.
Colijuegos has allowed international operators to apply for Colombia online gambling licenses. This August Ladbrokes and Grupo Cirsa Spanish market joint-venture Sportium announced that it was preparing to expand within South America, Confident that it would secure a Colombian online gambling licence.
