OPTIMA delivers serverless solution through extended BTC deal

OPTIMA has upheld its commitment to servicing independent bookmakers by announcing an extension to its partnership deal with the Bookmakers Technology Consortium (BTC).

Just a day after teasing a 50% increase in the deployment of its serverless solution at the Bookmakers Trade Fair, the sports betting provider agreed a deal that will give bookmakers with less than 20 shops in the UK access to its Multi-Channel Gaming Suite and EPOS Serverless v2 from December 2017.

Speaking in the Keynote Theatre in Solihull last week, OPTIMA CEO Jacob Lopez promoted the serverless solution which enables operators to do “more with less”.

EPOS v2 is a retail till application with a centralized architecture featuring real-time pre and in-play content delivery, live centralised liability, live bet tracking and reporting system.

It has been designed to provide a 70% reduction in setup and ownership costs for retail bookmakers, since investment is carried out only in the central infrastructure and till machines can operate with the lowest bandwidth use in the market.

New features are rolled out across the entire Bookmaker’s estate in just five minutes, while the standalone working mode provides a “continuity solution in adverse situations” because bets can be captured even when internet is down and processed when the connection returns.

Lopez commented: “We are pleased to extend our existing partnership with real operators that know the business upside down. We expect the BTC will increase the number of members that will benefit of all services provided by its non-for-profit organisation.

“With the new Serverless V2 and the new White Label oriented tools, bookmakers using the Serverless service from the BTC will have individual access to the data and tools to take control of their own business and group of shops.

“The BTC is following the UK bookmakers which have used EPOS serverless for more than 18 months in gaining access to a technology that allows them full control of their business at partner level, the possibility to roll out new features within minutes and the reduction of long release downtimes.

Howard Chisholm, Director of BTC, added: “Adding support for Optima MGS and EPOS Serverless v2 brings many benefits to the members of BTC. The EPOS Serverless v2 enables a quick installation in shops which already have standard EPOS equipment in place, which can be reused, providing considerable cost savings over traditional EPOS installations.

“The change to Optima MGS provides considerable enhancements to facilities available to individual shop operators and small groups using the system. All operators will have a field book available for every event, the Bet Control application enables central monitoring of large running up bets and the central security application enables live monitoring of bet settlement.

“BTC are very pleased to be able to offer these new features to the independent sector in the UK and look forward to working with Optima to provide further enhancements in the future.”
