Golden Race – Martin Wachter – a “gratifying” year, virtual football and 2018

As 2017 approaches its culmination, glances are increasingly being thrown towards a huge year ahead and the Russian World Cup on the horizon.

Martin Wachter, Golden Race

Off the back of a winning performance at the SBC Awards 2017 Martin Wachter, CEO of Golden Race, reflects on a busy year for the virtual sports provider: “For Golden Race the year 2017 has been very lively. We have experienced a broad growth and we are proud of our establishment in Latin America with the opening of two offices in the region, in Colombia and in Peru – and hopefully more to come.

“And we have continued to develop new games to add to our portfolio targeting and tailoring them to our clients’ needs by analysing the market’s demands. It has been a busy but very gratifying year.”

Virtual football is a vertical that is very much increasing in popularity, in addition to becoming a much more saturated environment from which to operate as a result.

Wachter went on to explain why and how he believes this evolution took place, and what stands the Golden Race offering out from the crowd: “I think virtual football has evolved from a niche to a vertical due to the smooth transition to the digital world that has enabled the industry worldwide to access virtual sports in general.

“The constantly increasing volume of players has made us adapt our products to create our online and mobile platform, absolutely different from anything else on the market. Furthermore, our games offer speed and dynamics. Players can play 24/7, anywhere.

“Our company offers live-render, HD and 3D games that allow flexibility, easy updating and customisation, meaning each event is unique. With realistic odds from in-house professional bookmakers for each individual game, real sports commentators for in-game voice-overs, and the collaboration with real cameramen, our virtual games are more alive than ever.”

After scooping best new virtual sports product at the SBC awards last year, Golden Race followed up its success by winning best new virtual football product at this years presentation.

With football’s premier event set to take centre stage in the 2018 sporting calendar, and very much lingering in the minds of a plethora of individuals and organisations worldwide, Wachter continued by offering a brief insight into what is to come next year, and how the Golden Race product can heighten a consumer’s World Cup experience: “[Next] year we are going to focus our efforts on the customer’s needs developing new tools to improve risk management and increase our clients’ revenues and continue to work in introducing our offer to new markets.

“Both our virtual football offering, and all the games of Golden Race, will be improved with further advanced features next year, but it is too soon to give anything away.”

Adding: “The year 2018 is undoubtedly the football World Cup year; for this, our recently Award Winning Virtual Football game is the reward to the hard work of the Golden Race team.

“It is the perfect excuse for players to enjoy our unrivalled virtual matches, completely tailored to the player’s will, when the live football matches are not taking place.”

At the SBC Awards 2017, held at the HAC Artillery Garden in London on December 5, Golden Race picked up the award for best new virtual football product. You can see Martin Wachter collect the award from football legend Luis Garcia and sports presenter Matt Lorenzo, and speak about what it both means and says and his company, in the video below.

The virtual sports providers are also sponsors of SBC’s Betting on Football event, due to be held at Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea Football Club, from March 20-23.
