Gameweek 25 of the Premier League saw another raft of midweek fixtures thrown into the mix, providing a number of eye catching results.
Swansea kicked things off with a 3-1 victory over Arsenal, following up on their 1-0 triumph of Liverpool, at the Liberty Stadium. Bournemouth’s thumping 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge was the pick of Wednesday’s results, while Tottenham Hotspur narrowed the gap to the top four to just two points after defeating Manchester United 2-0 at Wembley.
Esports Insider Editor Sam Cooke crept into the top 50 of SBC’s League of Legends, recording the league’s highest score of 82 to rise to 48th in the standings. Top scoring was captain Roberto Firmino, who had his eight points doubled to 16, backed up by joint top scorer for the round Theo Walcott (15 points), who replaced Watford playmaker Richarlison in his side this week, and Burnley keeper Tom Pope, whose penalty saving heroics earned him 11 points.
In the top ten Ladbrokes Coral’s Lewis Palmer was one of the big winners, earning 70 points to leapfrog his way up to fourth place, just 40 points off OPAP’s Constantinos Digonis who still leads the way. Captain Raheem Sterling notched a pair of assists to have a doubled score of 20, again backed up free scoring Walcott (15) and the Liverpool pair of Firmino and Mohamed Salah who notched eight points apiece.
Making up the ever changing tenth spot in the league after this latest gameweek is Piyush Choudhary, with 60 points enough to see him narrowly sneak ahead of the competition. Captain Sergio Aguero left it late again to grab another goal and register 12 points, with the usual trifecta of Sterling, Firmino and Salah the notable backups with ten, eight and eight points respectively.
Saturday see’s Manchester City visit Burnley to kick off the Premier League fixtures, with Manchester United welcoming Huddersfield, and Everton travelling to Arsenal to close out the days play.
Super Sunday kicks off with Crystal Palace and Newcastle doing battle at Selhurst Park, before the battle for the Champions League hots up as Spurs travel to Anfield. Chelsea look to hit back on Monday Night Football, as they do battle with Watford.
