The France based Winamax, which claims to be one of the world’s largest and best online poker rooms brings on board  Leo Margets and João Vieira as its team pros.

In view of this, the duos will  represent the brand year-long online, and  at various live tournaments. Winamax, which is currently in the last lap of launching a shared liquidity platform between its French and Spanish players, has already received the go ahead  from France’s regulatory body ARJEL, with just a similar stamp of approval needed by the Spanish regulator DGOJ before being given the thumbs-up.

Looking forward to the move Winamax cut a sponsorship deal with Spanish pro Adrian Mateos last October, with Spain’s Leo Margets and Portugal’s João Vieira  fortifying  the site’s presence further on the Iberian Peninsula.

Commenting upon its upgrades, Winamax Team coach, PokerStars Stéphane Matheu, stated:“Leo and João are two players with very different profiles, but who synergise perfectly with our team spirit. Both players are very friendly and approachable, in addition to being hard workers. Leo has a lot of experience on the circuit, and even beyond: she has much to bring to the Team. João is, in my opinion, the most accomplished Portuguese player in poker.”

Leo Margets rose to prominence in 2009 after finishing the WSOP Main Event in 39th place for a $352,832, and has since gone on to amass $987,114 in career earnings. Last year subsequently proved to be her third most successful to date with $101,486 in winnings, including recording a third place finish at the PokerStars Festival Marbella Main Event for €72,000 ($80,244).

Meanwhile, João Vieira is an ex-basketball pro turned high-stakes poker player who is currently ranked at number 4 on Portugal’s ‘All Time Money List’ with $1,298,151 in winnings, with his biggest score recorded in 2014 after a deep run at the $25,500 PCA High Roller in which he exited in 8th place for $157,940. He has also notched up impressive tournaments wins online, and commenting upon his new home at Winmax, João said:

“I am a big fan of the Winamax software and tournaments. I am very happy to be able to represent a site that tries to have a positive impact on the community.”
