Casino revenue increases in Detroit

The Michigan Gaming Control Board has released its monthly report and all the three casinos in Michigan have posted a 0.3 per cent increase in revenues. The gaming regulator said that aggregate revenue for July was US$119.3 million, up 0.3 per cent from July 2017, while total revenue for the first seven months of the year was up 1.7 per cent when compared to the same period a year before. Moreover, July revenues were up 0.2 per cent over June results.

During last month operations, the three Detroit casinos paid US$9.7 million in gaming taxes to the state, up by approximately US$100k when compared to the US$9.6 million that they paid during the same month last year.

The city of Detroit recorded US$14.2 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments in July, the gaming control board said.
