Betsson AB seeks new financial lead as Hilsen returns to Telenor

Issuing a short market statement, Stockholm-listed online gambling group Betsson AB has confirmed the resignation of Kaaren Hilsen as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Betsson governance has revealed that Hilsen is set to return to the telecoms sector, taking over the Chief Executive role at Telenor Sweden, a company she previously served as CFO from 2013-2017.

Hilsen had joined Betsson’s executive team in October 2017, replacing long-term group financial lead Fredrik Rüdén.

Betsson Group CEO Pontus Lindwall confirmed the departure of Hilsen to corporate investors;

“I would like to thank Kaaren for her contribution in getting Betsson back on track. I respect that she has received an offer she couldn’t refuse and wish her all the best for the future. Betsson is a stronger company than it was a year ago and I am sure that we will soon recruit a new CFO who wants to be part of taking Betsson to the next level”.

Betsson has detailed that Hilsen has agreed to serve a ‘six-month notice period’, as corporate governance begins its executive search for a new group finance leader.
