Betting on Sports America hits New York and New Jersey

Betting on Sports America, the new sports betting conference and exhibition from SBC, is so big that it is spanning two states!

The conference, which is being held from 23-25 April 2019, will start off in New York City, cross the Hudson River to New Jersey, before returning to Manhattan to round things off.

The event will open on Tuesday 23rd April with a networking evening party for pre-registration near Times Square, before moving across to the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, which will be the conference and exhibition venue for 24-25 April.

Meadowlands Exposition Center is a stone’s throw away from the MetLife Stadium, home of NFL teams New York Giants and New York Jets, and close by to Meadowlands Racetrack, which houses the first Fanduel Sportsbook.

Located just minutes away from New York, the New Jersey venue will host up to 1,500 delegates, 175 speakers and 60 exhibitors, as the industry jostles for position in what could become the biggest global sports betting market.

The evening on 25 April will see a spectacular closing party back in New York City, allowing delegates to experience the best of the Big Apple.

Betting on Sports America, which will host pivotal discussions from key industry speakers, will be supported by 61,000 sq.ft of exhibition space showcasing the latest developments from the international betting industry.

SBC CEO & Founder Rasmus Sojmark stated: “The Meadowlands Exposition Center provides the perfect venue for the first Betting on Sports America event. We are incredibly excited to bring such a crucial industry event to this area, which has already been so pivotal in the development of sports betting in the US.”

“It was New Jersey that challenged PASPA in the courts, barging the door open for most others, it was the FanDuel Sportsbook that was the first of its kind at the racetrack and its the state where DraftKings launched their app. In many ways it is the pioneer of the new wave of sports betting in the US.”

The event will be a hub of expertise, uniting some of the most knowledgeable names from the US gambling sector under one roof to analyse how operators, affiliates and suppliers can take advantage of May’s long overdue PASPA repeal.

Amongst those confirmed to speak at the event are: Kresimir Spajic (Hard Rock International), May Scheve (Missouri Lottery), Allen Godfrey (Mississippi Gaming Commission), Andrew Winchell (Chief of Staff to New York State Senator), Chris Grove (Legal Sports Report), Daniel Wallach (Becker & Poliakoff), Manuel Stan (Kindred Group) and Seth Young (Foxwoods).

SBC Managing Director Andrew McCarron added: “Betting on Sports America has been created to strike a perfect balance between local knowledge from individual states and the vast operating experience from the European market. The conference agenda will focus on topics ranging from integrity, sponsorship and marketing to problem gambling – all of which will be key to a sustainable US sports betting market.

“The fact that we are also able to host the events across two states known for their progressive views on sports betting is also exciting.”
