Lottstift demands that Kindred exit Norway
Lottstift, Norway’s Gaming Authority has demanded that ‘Trannel International’ a subsidiary of Stockholm-listed Kindred Group Plc cease its market operations immediately.
The regulatory body states that the Trannel syndicated properties of Unibet, Maria Casino, Storspiller and BingoLottstift have ‘actively targeted’ Norwegian consumers, breaching the nation’s gambling code.
In its update, Lottstift has charged Trannel/Kindred properties of ‘knowingly targeting’ Norwegian consumers, offering customer services in Norwegian, allowing Krone transactions and marketing to players.
Trannel maintains that it has complied with its Malta MGA licensing conditions and that the Norwegian regulator holds no authority to enforce any type of market withdrawal upon its properties.
Lottstift and Kindred Group have often clashed over Norwegian market interpretations and regulatory over-reach.
Last February, Lottstift governance demanded that all Norwegian banks block payment transactions with Malta MGA licensed operators, with the authority publicly castigating Kindred Group and five other online gambling brands.
Further hostilities have seen Kindred governance through Trannel and Oslo law firm Glittertind AS file a lawsuit against Lottstift, claiming to be ‘unfairly targeted’ by the regulator its policy enforcement.
Kindred states that Lottstift, has placed unfair restrictions and committed regulatory overreach on its business services including the blocking of player transaction and sanctioning a ban on Kindred apps listing on the Apple App Store for Norway.
