DGOJ revamps AEAT tax data collaboration
Updating licensed incumbents, Spanish gambling regulator DGOJ has renewed its cooperation agreement with ‘Agencia Tributaria’ (AEAT), Spain’s tax agency.
Both institutions confirm that they will move to revamp data and information mechanisms monitoring the tax compliance of Spanish licensed operators, that have been in place since 2014.
Establishing new partnership terms, DGOJ officials will have access to the AEAT’s database providing information and updates on the tax obligations of licensed incumbents.
Whilst in exchange AEAT officials will receive DGOJ data related to operator accounts and transactions, helping Spanish authorities fight fiscal fraud and criminal behaviours.
Previously, both Spanish institutions would share data exchanges through a quarterly submission, primarily focused on licensed operators’ self-assessment on industry taxes.
Closing its statement, the DGOJ brands its revamped data arrangement with AEAT, as an important mechanism for better governance of Spain’s online gambling marketplace and its licensed actors.
