Mindway AI hires Rasmus Kjærgaard as new CEO

Mindway AI, a Denmark-based software company which specialises in solutions for the identification of problem gambling behaviour among online bettors, has hired Rasmus Kjærgaard as its new CEO.

As of 1 December, he has taken his seat at Mindway AI – a university spin-off by scientists from the Institute for clinical medicine at Aarhus University. It is part-owned by Better Collective, who this year acquired 19.99% of the company for a total price of DKK 4 million.

Joining founders Svend Aage Kirk and Professor Kim Mouridsen, who will both continue to play a key role, he has been tasked with broadening the company’s software solutions and strengthening collaborations with operators on a global scale.

Kjærgaard arrives from IT company Signaturgruppen A/S where he spent over four years as VP of Sales. During that time, the company was in the same growth phase that Mindway AI now is entering.

“I’m very pleased to have joined the exciting journey Mindway AI is on,” he commented. “Responsible gambling is – for good reasons – a topic, which continues to be high on the agenda.

“I believe we have innovative software solutions that truly can support the operators in their work to minimize problem gambling through early detection among their players.

“With a great team behind me and strong partners, I am confident we can utilize our solid foundation and steer Mindway AI into an even brighter future.”

Mindway AI is the company behind the Gamescanner, a software solution that detects at-risk and problem gamblers via an algorithm based on neuroscience and artificial intelligence.

Another solution is the Gamification Self-Test, a simple game to uncover risk profiles which bypasses self-assessment bias. More recently, Mindway AI launched Gamechanger, a training tool that helps at-risk and problem gamblers take back control over their gambling by training to control their impulsivity.
