New redevelopment plans have been submitted to Leeds City Council for the redevelopment of Alea Casino, following the lapse of previously approved plans.

Alea Casino previously had plans approved to redevelop the premises into offices and a cafe, but have since lapsed. The new application, which has been submitted, includes a proposal to change the use of the building from its former gambling activity to that of business offices and commercial premises. The planning proposal is reported to include a new roof terrace, cinema, events space and plans to convert the premises into a business lounge and cafe.

A statement on the proposals was released: “The design of the internal layout is intended to provide flexible workspace that will appeal to occupies seeking to be part of a vibrant and creative community building on the success of other proposals brought forward by Allied London. A range of workspaces are therefore provided within the building.”
