UKGC suspends Lotteries.com licence over AML concerns

The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has undertaken a review into the licence of International Multi-Media Entertainments Limited, which operates lottery betting site Lotteries.com.

The suspension, which is effective immediately, comes after the operator was found to be in breach of the Commission’s AML and social responsibility protocols.

“We have instructed the operator to ensure that it facilitates customers’ accessing their accounts to withdraw any funds and we remain in contact with them regarding the need for clear and updated messaging for consumers.”

International Multi-Media Entertainments also operates thelotterycentre.com, though this website was not one of International Multi-Media Entertainments’ domain names per its licence.

Earlier this month, the UKGC imposed an interim suspension on the licence of igaming and sports betting operator Stakers.

Enforcing sections 116 and 118 of the Gambling Act 2005, the UKGC ‘commenced a review’ into the Switzerland-based operator, suspending its licence while the review takes place.
