Stats Perform secures total US Soccer coverage with USL data agreement

Stats Perform has become the exclusive data rights distributor for the United Soccer League’s (USL) flagship competitions ‘USL Championship’ and ‘USL League One’.

Securing a comprehensive agreement, Stats Perform will become the official USL data distributor for all wagering, fantasy sports and media broadcast incumbents.

The partnership will see Stats Perform secure total coverage of US professional soccer leagues, having become lead data rights distributor for the Major League Soccer (MLS) and Team USA Men and Womens national team matches at the start of the year.

Stats Perform confirmed that it has expanded USL’s data gathering capacities, tracking over 1,000 USL sanctioned matches per season, which will be made available to all licensed sportsbooks and media partners utilising RunningBall and OPTA player data services.

Stats Perform Chief Rights Officer, Alex Rice, commented: “Soccer is the undisputed biggest betting sport in the world, which means hundreds of licensed sportsbooks and millions of bettors trust us to power their entertainment by collecting data with the utmost professionalism and integrity.

“Our data collection team is the best in the world at what they do and we’re delighted to have been selected by the USL to deliver the best possible betting experiences across their competitions.”

Operating since 2010, the USL Championship is recognised as North America’s second-biggest professional soccer league, and a key organisation in the development of professional football athletes for Team USA.

Backing the partnership, USL management highlighted the importance of Stats Perform as lead data distributor, securing its data rights portfolio alongside high-coverage European leagues Spain’s La Liga, France’s  Ligue 1 and Germany’s Bundesliga.

“The USL is excited to partner with Stats Perform as we continue to explore the landscape of sports betting,” said USL SVP of Digital & Emerging Technology and Strategy, Lizzie Seedhouse.

“Though a seemingly ever-changing landscape, the USL’s priority remains quality and integrity of its data, two qualities that Stats Perform carries as a proven leader in this space.”
