The charity has been named as a finalist in the PSHE Education category at the Children & Young People Now Awards 2020. The specific accolade relates to the City & Guilds Assured training and resources provided to teachers through the national programme they are delivering in partnership with GamCare and supported by members of the Betting and Gaming Council.
The PSHE Education Award honours organisations that ‘provide outstanding resources to educators for PSHE education, delivering materials and lesson plans that align cohesively with current national curriculum requirements.’ YGAM has over 450 resources, mapped to the PSHE and RSE programme of study, and covers Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5 while offering a range of delivery including full lessons, tutorials and drop-down day tasks.
Amy Bussey, YGAM’s Education Manager for the Yorkshire & Humber region, said: “It’s amazing to see YGAM and the national programme recognised alongside some inspirational organisations. Our resources are perfectly matched to the PSHE and RSE Programme of Study, and we provide everything teachers need to deliver a comprehensive programme to young people, from Year 3 right through to Year 13. It is always rewarding to see our resources in action within schools across the country. A magnificent achievement for the team.”
The national awards aim to celebrate the innovative and inspiring initiatives taking place all over the UK led by dedicated professionals whose work improves the lives of children, young people and their families. They promote the learning and best practice from projects at the forefront of delivering vital services for future generations.
The winners in each category will be announced during an online ceremony at 4pm on 4th March 2021.
