Golden Race drives virtual football engagement with Euro Cup

Golden Race has strengthened its virtual football offering after launching its new tournament, Euro Cup.

Inspired by the European Championship, the virtual tournament has been made available to Golden Race clients across Europe and Africa.

The competition – which is available both on demand and scheduled – is divided in two phases: a group stage and a knockout stage. During the group stage, the teams play one match against all of the other teams in the same group, with three points for a win, one point for a draw and none for a defeat.

The top two teams from each group qualify, as well as the best four third placed teams. Teams’ rankings, explained Golden Race, are based on the number of points accrued during the group stages – with goal difference and number of goals also taken into account.

The knockout stage consists of one match during each of the four stages with Golden Race’s qualify market added to drive engagement among bettors.

The betting services and virtual football provider noted that its Euro Cup product will be made available for both retail and online, for which it has been ‘optimised for mobile and desktop devices so that players can access it and enjoy it easily and smoothly’.

In January, Golden Race received the necessary certification to become a wagering B2B provider in South Africa after gaining the nod of approval from Gaming Laboratories International Africa (GLI).
