Pronet expands into horse racing with BetMakers partnership

Pronet Gaming has made its debut into the horse racing betting market, having secured a partnership with BetMakers Technology Group.

The London-based platform provider’s sportsbook clients will gain access to over 250,000 races per year from over 20 different countries, including the UK, Republic of Ireland, Australia and the US, as well as greyhound and harness racing fixtures.

Incorporating live streams of up to 2,500 races per week, BetMakers’ horse racing solution covers both traditional win and place fixed odds markets and pari-mutuels, in addition to tote exotics and fixed odds derivatives.

“We look forward to working with the BetMakers team for our entry into the horse racing market by offering an unparalleled global racing product,” said Thomas Molloy, Sportsbook and Trading Director at Pronet Gaming.

“Here at Pronet, our strategy is to give our clients a world-class product offering and, by partnering with BetMakers, we continue to expose our client base to the best the industry has to offer.”

The arrival of horse racing strengthens the diversity of Pronet Gaming’s offering as it continues to increase its industry presence, particularly within emerging markets.

Additionally, Prophet’s sportsbook customers will be able to utilise BetMakers’ high-marking SameRaceMultis product, offering accumulator bets within one race as well as expanded racing form and dynamic content on race cards.

Jake Henson, Chief Operating Officer at BetMakers, added: “BetMakers is pleased that we’ve advanced our integration with Pronet Gaming to the point where we can now launch a world-class racing book across Pronet’s global network of platform clients.

“The team and the product are first-class and we look forward to assisting them to grow new revenue streams for their clients.”

Pronet intends to utilise the partnership to strengthen its overall sportsbook offering, as it continues to grow its global presence, with a particular focus on emerging markets, such as in Africa.

The operator established a presence in Cameroon via a partnership with local betting firm Winnerbet last month, which saw the latter migrate to Pronet’s platform and integrate its full range of solutions across both its online and retail channels.

Writing for SBC News, Mark Schmidt, Director of Sales for Africa at Pronet, highlighted the significance of mobile and 5G technology in the development of the African betting and gaming market.

He remarked: “Mobile money has long become a staple for bettors in Africa. Operators successfully integrating with local wallet providers to provide simple deposit and withdrawal processes have helped build a groundswell of confidence in mobile betting.”
