Will Elon Musk accept Jack Dorsey’s invitation to have “THE” talk on Bitcoin?

It looks as if a new scrimmage has triggered on Twitter between some of the most popular businessmen Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey. The two are currently in opposite camps with their opinions on Bitcoin.

It was on Thursday, June 24, that Dorsey announced a new community to expand the Bitcoin development and further push adoption among institutions and companies. The announcement of his “The B Word” community, led to a bizarre response by Musk who tweeted “Bitcurious”?

Countering Musk, the Square and Twitter CEO challenged Musk to have a debate with him at the opening event as he said:

“Bizarre! Let’s you and I have a conversation at the event. You can share all your curiosities…”

Musk, jokingly went on by tweeting “Lmfao omg” to which Dorsey again called the Tesla CEO for a conversation. “Let’s have THE talk”, he replied.

Elon Musk is surely the best- known Bitcoin troll around and with his 56 million followers, the power of his words is not to be underestimated. After he added to the bullish momentum for Bitcoin earlier in the year by disclosing Tesla had added Bitcoin to its balance as well as that it started accepting payments in Bitcoin, he has made a u-turn. Tesla then dropped payments with the top cryptocurrency with the company citing Bitcoin’s environmental issue.

With the war of words with Dorsey ongoing, Musk added some more fuel to the fire with a tweet targeting Bitcoin maximalists:

Naturally, a response from the community was expected and several notable Bitcoin proponents replied.

Michael Saylor, who recently added another $500 million worth of Bitcoin to his company’s balance sheets, said:

“If you give us 10 minutes, maybe we can hash out the answer…”

“The B Word” community

So what is this community intended for?

The official website says the following:

“Bitcoin focused initiative that aims to demystify and destigmatize mainstream narratives about Bitcoin, explain how institutions can and should embrace it, and raise awareness around areas of the network that need support”.

The community, focused towards Bitcoin development, will launch on July 21, 2021 and aims to bring more informed discussions around Bitcoin. Educating the larger audience and empowering investors with the right knowledge is how they will do this. The community goals are:

  1. Demystifying Bitcoin
  2. Supporting the Developer Ecosystem
  3. Securing the Bitcoin Network
  4. Regulating Bitcoin
  5. Preserving the Bitcoin Ethos

The opening event will have some top speakers lined up. They include Bitcoin industry heavy weights like Ark Investments’ Cathie Wood, Twitter and Square Inc CEO Jack Dorsey and Blockstream CEO Adam Back.
