BV Gaming Limited, trading as BetVictor, had to pay a total of \u00a32 million ($2.7 million) in fines after an investigation led by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) revealed severe negligence and failure with regards to the fairness, social responsibility and money laundering.<\/p>\n
The operator, which operates a number of sites \u2013 betvictor.com, betvictor.mobi, hbingo.co.uk, heartbingo.co.uk and parimatch.co.uk \u2013 has agreed to pay the penalty after a settlement with the Commission.<\/p>\n
The \u00a32 million fine will go to the National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms.<\/p>\n
Leanne Oxley, Gambling Commission Director of Enforcement, said:<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a gambling regulator our focus is on ensuring that gambling in Britain is fair, safe and crime-free, and BetVictor failed consumers by breaching rules aimed at achieving these objectives.<\/p>\n
\u201cNon-compliance \u2013 no matter what the reason \u2013 will never be a viable business option for gambling businesses. We will always be tough on operators who fail in this way.\u201d<\/p>\n
