US tech news sources have reported that Google has hired Caesars Entertainment Corporation (CEC) Chief Commercial Officer Tariq Shaukat to lead its enterprise division.

Shaukat leaves embattled CEC following four and half years’ services, in which he oversaw group commercial and marketing activities as Chief Commercial Officer (October 2014 – May 2016) and Chief Marketing Officer (March 2012 – September 2014).

Joining tech giant Google, Shaukat will be in charge of growing the firm’s business enterprise services and solutions, including expanding product sales of business apps and cloud services and devices.

In its ongoing heavyweight tech battle against competitors Apple, Amazon and Facebook, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has detailed the importance of the company leading in the field of enterprise services and solutions.

The search giant is reported to have spent millions of dollars building its ‘cloud storage’ solution as it looks to house data services for leading multi-national enterprises.

CEC has yet to officially confirm the departure of Shaukat.
