Mark Jones
UK business news sources have reported that Grosvenor Casinos Managing Director Mark Jones has left parent firm Rank Group Plc, to join UK football pitch operator Goals Soccer Centres (Goals) as new Chief Executive Officer.
A leisure industry expert, Jones departs Rank Group following seven years’ service where he held leadership roles including MD of Mecca Bingo (2009-2014) and MD for Grosvenor Casinos (2014-2016). Jones was in charge of both retail and digital channels for the Rank Group assets.
Goals confirmed to the media that Jones would take over leadership on 1 July. The appointment of Jones follows a corporate review undertaken by Goals governance, following the report of the company’s first loss in twelve years.
The company which operates 46 football centres in the UK ends its search for a CEO which was first announced this January as former incumbent Keith Rogers would relocate to the US to oversee its North American business division.
As of yet Rank Group governance have not commented on the departure of Jones.
