NetBet commits to Romania with 10 year licence

European sports betting operator NetBet has confirmed that it has secured a ‘Class 1 Romanian operator licence’ from by regulator Official Național pentru Jocuri de Noroc (ONJN) for a period of ten years.

The conformation will allow Malta-licensed NetBet to operate specific Romanian subsidiary Cosmo Gaming Company a division which will maintain the operations and services of NetBet.ro

In October 2015, NetBet governance stated that it was committed to continuing the development of its operations within the Romanian betting market having been granted a provisional licence by ONJN.

The sports betting operator had previously shown its market intent by announcing its biggest European sponsorship partnership with Steaua Bucuresti (Steaua Bucharest), Romania’s most popular football club.

Confirming its ONJN licensing Alexandre Mangaud, NetBet’s Director of Marketing commented

“Romania is important to us and it was essential that we could to provide our services within the market. Regulated markets are and remain the main target for NetBet as they provide safety and peace of mind for players. Being able to offer a safe, transparent and responsible product is core to our company values.”
