First eSports Industry Awards 2016 finalists announced

The eSports Industry Awards 2016 is taking place in London on November 21st at London’s the Brewery, and the first finalists to make the grade have been announced.

The awards will once again be hosted by Radio 1 presenter Julia Hardy and Jason Bradbury of the Gadget Show. Over 600 of the industry’s leading figures are expected to attend for a night of networking and celebration.

The finalists for the following categories have been revealed; Best Esports Coverage Website, Best Hardware Provider, Best Streaming Platform, Esports Commercial Partner, Esports Game of the Year, Esports Journalist of the Year, Esports Photographer of the Year, Esports Publisher of the Year, New Esports Game of the Year, and Streamer of the Year.

The new game category will be particularly hard fought with Overwatch, Vainglory and Rocket League all exploding onto the scene with plentiful passionate fans, whilst FIFA 16 also has a case as EA’s esports division’s long term competitive gaming plan for its titles began in earnest this year.

The commercial partners contenders includes well known brands HTC, Monster, Intel and RedBull in addition to G2A, Newegg, Turtle Beach Europe, AlphaDraft, DXRacer and Anheuser-Busch InBev.

These are for 2016 Broadcaster of the Year, Best Live Event 2016, Console Player of the Year, eSports Personality of the Year, eSports Rookie of the Year, eSports Team of the Year, PC Player of the Year and UK eSports Player of the Year.
