Operational restructure sees Amaya make London staff cuts

amayaToronto-listed online gambling operator Amaya Inc has confirmed that it has made a number of redundancies to its London office as the operator looks to restructure its operations and reduce costs.

Amaya’s staff cuts were confirmed last week by VP of Communications Eric Hollreiser to industry news source eGaming Review.

The company detailed that it was eliminating “dozens” of roles in its London office, with a view of moving some effected staff to its cost-effective Isle of Man headquarters.

Amaya management further confirmed that a number of the job losses were related to the company’s decision to close down its Full Tilt poker brand in May, migrating its customer base onto its primary PokerStars platform.

Company governance has detailed that the staff reductions were needed as Amaya will now concentrate on a single brand strategy and in order to meet its investor targets.

The redundancies have seen Heath Cram Director of Sports Business Development & Operations announce via Linkedin that he would no longer be part of the company following 10-year service with Rational Group and Amaya enterprises.

Amaya Inc governance expects to announce its H1 2016 earnings results on 11 August.
