Smart Live Gaming surrenders UKGC operator & software licenses

Updating the market, the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has informed that Smart TV Broadcasting Limited, the operating company of Smart Live Gaming, has surrendered its official ‘Remote Operator’ and ‘Gambling Software’ licences.

The forfeit of both its UK licences comes a week after the UKGC had placed Smart Live Gaming brands under temporary suspension stating that the interactive gaming operator was ‘unfit’ to service UK gambling consumers.

The UKGC stated that it will still require Smart Live Gaming to settle its outstanding player accounts and payments.

Launched in May 2007, through its brand ‘Smart Live Casino’ on Sky TV channel 863, Smart Live Gaming aimed to become the leading industry player in UK interactive gaming offering consumers real-time televised roulette and live-dealer games.

The voluntary surrender of its UKGC syndicated licenses, will lead to the closure of all Smart Live Gaming associated brands and services. The commission will continue to update the market with regards to placed Smart Live Gaming full closure.
