Penn National gets social with Hollywood Classic Slots launch

screen-shot-2016-10-03-at-21-36-16Nasdaq-listed Penn National Gaming (Penn), becomes the latest US land-based gambling operator to enter the social gaming space by announcing the launch of ‘Hollywood Classic Slots’ a social casino with over 30 slot titles.

Its new social product will be operated by new division Penn Interactive Ventures, formed following its August acquisition of Rocket Games for a reported $60 million (£45 million).

The Hollywood Classic Slots game will be initially made available to consumers via iTunes App Store, with Penn stating that an Android version will be made available shortly on Google Play and Amazon stores.

Rocket Games social casino content is amongst the most popular with US players, prominent amongst the most downloaded titles in gaming charts.

Acquiring Rocket Games in August, Penn governance detailed that it wanted to make its corporate services more appealing and dynamic to a younger audience.

Chris Sheffield Senior Vice President and Managing Director of iGaming at Penn National, commented,

“This is an exciting time to launch Hollywood Classic Slots and Rocket’s content as our classic slots on our platform and at our land based casinos have proven to be very popular with players. After our customers visit any of our 20 land based casinos, we want them to have the option of continuing the fun of playing our exciting play for fun social slot games from the comfort of their own homes. In addition, with Hollywood Classic Slots, we have plans to incorporate our loyalty program, Marquee Rewards, so customers can earn rewards to use at their favorite casino.”
