Malta-based European sports betting operator, Tipico Group (Tipico) has confirmed that Deutschland Marketing Director Christian Gruber has resigned from his executive position.

Updating stakeholders, Tipico governance informed that Gruber would leave the company on 15 April, to pursue ‘new career challenges’. Gruber has served as marketing and communications lead for Tipico’s German division since April 2014.

During his tenure, the German language focused sportsbook has grown its market presence, by undertaking a number of high coverage football betting partnerships including Bundesliga football clubs’ Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Hamburger SV.

Tipico’s Chief Executive Joachim Baca thanked Gruber for his services to the firm, stating that he had played an ‘instrumental part’ is establishing Tipico as a leading betting brand for Germany.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Christian Gruber for his tremendous achievements over the past three years,” Baca said. “We wish him and his family all the best and success in his future endeavour.”

Tipico governance has yet to confirm a replacement for Christian Gruber’s leadership position.
