Updating the market, Nasdaq-listed Scientific Games Corporation (SGC) has moved to bolster its social gaming portfolio by acquiring mobile and social games development studio Spicerack Media (Spicerack).

The undisclosed sum acquisition of Spicerack will see SGC acquire all related assets including popular social game title ‘Bingo Showdown’, which will be added to SGC current social casino games portfolio operated by its SG Interactive division.

Barry Cottle, Chief Executive, SG Interactive, said, “We are excited by the addition of Spicerack’s talented team and complementary nature of their successful bingo game offering to our expanding portfolio of rapidly growing social casino apps. The acquisition will be immediately accretive and provide additional momentum in the mobile gaming space, as we look to exceed players’ expectations of exciting and engaging gaming entertainment experiences.”

Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Spicerack Media has focused on developing social gaming mobile content. Its Bingo Showdown as a top five social bingo title in 2016 on Apple, Android and Amazon games charts.
