Danke…Bwin nets €3 million a season partnership with Borussia Dortmund

GVC Holdings’ European sportsbook subsidiary Bwin has furthered its presence within the German market by signing a four-year betting partnership with Bundesliga football club Borussia Dortmund.  

Agreeing terms on a €3 million per year partnership, Bwin will become a feature marketing partner of the Rhineland football club, with its brand prominently displayed throughout Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park ‘Westfalenstadion’ stadium (capacity -80,000).

Updating the media, Bwin marketing was pleased to have secured its partnership with Dortmund, one the best-followed clubs in European football. As a key sponsor, Bwin will further contribute to Dortmund social and grassroots football initiatives.

Looking ahead to the start of 2017/18 Bundesliga season, Stephen Heilmann, Head of Bwin’s brand commented: “As a BVB champion partner, Bwin is back in the Bundesliga. We want to involve the BVB fans in our sponsoring as much as we can and we have a range of exciting ideas that we will soon implement both inside and outside the stadium.”

Borussia Dortmund’s Commercial Director Carsten Cramer backed Bwin as new betting partner: “In Bwin, we have a partner by our side that has a longer association with German football than any other company in the betting industry. We believe that this company is a perfect fit for BVB thanks to its global appeal and its preference for the black and yellow colour combination.”
