High flyer Smarkets looks forward to 2018, following Deloitte ‘Fast 50’ tech recognition

Online betting exchange Smarkets has secured the fourth spot on the ‘Deloitte Fast 50’, an enterprise index listing the ‘fastest growth UK technology businesses’.

The only industry enterprise to list in the Deloitte Fast 50, Smarkets joins a prestigious top ten of UK-based technology firms, which is headed up by food delivery platform Deliveroo ranking number 1 for 2017.

Recognised by Deloitte as the ‘UK’s fastest growth Fintech business’, Smarkets has detailed corporate revenues of + £25 million for its 2016/17 performance.

Founded in 2007 by CEO Jason Trost, Smarkets has focused on in-house technology development of its online betting exchange, whilst optimising trading dynamics between punter and betting market.

Smarkets ‘accelerated growth’ has been recognised by UK media, with the Enterprise listing second place in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 and further being awarded City AM’s ‘Leap 100 – Company of the Year’ for 2017.

“Having ranked fourth in last year’s list, it’s wonderful to see us as high again this year, thanks to our sustained and impressive growth in recent years, establishing ourselves as one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe,” commented Jason Trost.

“While our growth and especially profitability has been fantastic of late, we can’t take our foot off the gas and must have an even bigger impact in 2018. I’m excited about the future of this company and what’s ahead.”
