Independent online gambling group, Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) has confirmed the appointment of David Hopkins as its new Head of Programmes.
An industry veteran, Hopkins joins the Yorkshire based operator from competitor William Hill, where he most recently served in the executive position of Director of Gaming Product Development (2016-2017).
Acting as Head of Programmes, Hopkins will be charged with leading SB&G’s new product delivery and executing further player utilities and functions across SB&G’s existing product portfolio.
In 2017, SB&G has undertaken a number of technology-led initiatives, growing the headcount of its Yorkshire development teams.
In May, the operator announced that it would extend its existing partnership with NYX Gaming, with Sky Bet continuing to utilise OpenBet systems as lead platform solutions supplier.
Furthermore, dealing with a significant increase in player activity during peak operational hours, SB&G development teams migrated the Sky Bet Engine onto Amazon Web Services to cater for increase player demands and improved digital scalability.
In 2018, SB&G governance has detailed that the company will seek to expand its presence within the new markets of Italy and Germany, in which the operator has launched Sky Bet Italia and Sky Bet Deutschland respectively.
